This week would bring up some interesting results for the American currency against a raft of European ones. Would the dollar achieve some notable results overall? It looked as though it would.
Well, the US dollar didn’t have the best start against the British pound, as it opened on 0.7728 and ended the week on 0.7722. At least it was only a slight drop – maybe we could grab it back tomorrow. We had a better start against the euro, though, as the dollar opened on 0.9123 here and rose to 0.9142 by the end of the day. Our third European currency is the Swiss franc, and while the dollar opened on 0.9888 here, it did well to finish higher on 0.9945.
We did have a better day against the pound today, as the US dollar recouped its early losses and moved ahead some to 0.7742. Could this be a better way to move ahead for the rest of the week, too? Our good start against the euro yesterday was reinforced today, with another rise in store – this time to 0.9184. How much better could things get, we wondered? The dollar reached and exceeded parity against the Swiss currency today, rising to 1.0045 as it did so.
Once again, the dollar was pushed back by the pound today. This meant we finished on 0.7717. We managed three good days in a row against the euro, though, as the dollar edged ahead to 0.9189 today. Better news still came against the Swiss franc as well, as the dollar moved up further to 1.0061 today.
We were wondering what the rest of the week had in store for the American dollar, since it had gone up and down against the pound so far. Today, it went up, reaching a high of 0.7779 by the close of play. What would the final day of the week hold for us? Another great performance was put in against the euro today, as the dollar reached a week-long high so far of 0.9208. Could we make it five good days out of five tomorrow? We made it another good result against the Swiss franc today for sure, rising to 1.0084 and achieving the best rate so far this week.
There was a drop against the British pound today, but it was a very small one. By the time the week was up, the dollar stood at 0.7777, which was better than it had started on back on Monday morning. Maybe surprisingly, the dollar dropped against the euro today, although it had done enough good work so far to make sure it was better off across the entire week. As such, it finished on an impressive 0.9194. Finally, there was a slight dip against the Swiss franc, but only to 1.0079, so it had still been a good week for us.
